Your files on every device, in a cloud you own.

Nextcloud stores and shares files, with desktop and mobile apps that sync them.

Settings

Setting	Meaning
Hostname	The app's address
Admin password	The password of the admin account. At least 10 characters, not starting with a hyphen.

The admin password is used once, when the app first starts. To change it later, use Nextcloud's own settings: Personal settings → Security. Changing Admin password with Edit afterwards has no effect.

First sign-in

1. Select Open on the app's card.
2. Sign in with username admin and the admin password.

The administrator creates accounts for other people in Nextcloud's Accounts settings.

Desktop and mobile apps

Install the Nextcloud clients from nextcloud.com/install and enter https://<hostname> as the server address.

Calendar and contacts

Nextcloud includes the Calendar and Contacts apps. To sync calendars and contacts with apps on phones and computers, point your CalDAV and CardDAV applications at https://<your.app.hostname>.

File access

SFTP shows Nextcloud's data folder, read-only. To work with your files, use the Nextcloud apps or the web interface.

Email

Nextcloud sends email, such as share notifications and password resets, from nextcloud@freepod.eu. See Email.
